Enforcing and interpreting DEFRA’s incomprehensible regulations is a law enforcement operation. This law enforcement was carried out by local authorities who had no policing experience.
Local Authorities are an unsuitable vehicle for law enforcement operations.
- Licensing Officers aren’t trained to understand their responsibilities, don't understand the concept of service and do no know the protocols of meeting or interacting with the public.
- Licensing Officers assumed the unlimited power to interpret, imagine and apply regulations without any reference to their legal responsibilities.
- According to multiple reports, local authority employees have abused their position and abused members of our profession which have manifested as harassment, sexual predation and threats of financial ruin or closure.
- Local authority licensing officers abused their position across this country because they assumed the power to act as judge and jury during every inspection.
- Many local authorities have defended their colleague’s inability to read or understand the regulations with the usual half-truths and political guff the human race has been subsumed by and have failed to provide any appeals process to challenge their mistakes.
