DEFRA: Below the credibility of politicians?
We can rely on politicians to act out their contempt for the public by showing us that there is no lower limit to personal ignorance, smug superiority and intellectual idiocy …
and then here comes DEFRA: Simply too stupid to be useful, too lazy to proof read their own regulations and no defence for writing the most incompetent, inappropriate and intrusive legislation ever written - and their only solution is driving their Clown Car around in circles to distract from what they’ve done.
DEFRA’s legislation represents undue government interference into private businesses, private lives, staffing levels and access to personal downtime - Together these regulations are an example of sweeping dictatorial overreach, an attack on mental and physical health and a likely breach of legal statutes.
- DEFRA can’t justify that they imposed regulations that are more restrictive and less defensible because they codified regulations that don’t apply to any other sector.
- DEFRA can’t produce any genuine justification for altering our regulations and can’t deny that they wrote them without any knowledge or contact with anyone in our sector.
- DEFRA have accepted documentation showing that their decision to rewrite the sector’s regulations have contributed to the reduction of the UK’s boarding capacity by over one third.
- DEFRA’s regulations contain absolutely ZERO caveats to reflect the individual nature of this industry and have undermined the financial viability of individual businesses by raising costs for all catteries and kennels with no tangible benefits.
- DEFRA know that they are responsible for fixing their mess and that all of these consequences have been brought to their attention, yet they have done nothing to slow down the country-wide closures and have blamed everyone else but themselves.
